Dan about Thailand Vlog Reviews of Chiang Mai:

  • Chiang Mai Zoo

Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens & Canopy Walkway

Mae Sa Waterfall

Things to do:

1. Chiang Mai Zoo

Although perhaps best known for its pandas the zoo offers far more than this, and is easily the best zoo in Thailand. Located in the city centre it is explored best in your car given its vast size. It is home to hippos, monkeys, lions, kangaroos and much more. Well worth a visit.

You can visit their website here http://www.chiangmai.zoothailand.org/en/index.php

2. Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens & Canopy Walkway

There are three hiking trails, a canopy walkway, greenhouses, and a natural science museum. It is a huge gardens and you will need a good half day to discover all that it has to offer.

You can visit their website here http://www.qsbg.org/QSBGenglishweb/index.html

3. Pongyang Jungle Coaster & Zipline

Located up in the mountains this park is lots of fun for the whole family, with the signature ride being the super fun jungle coaster. Be aware there is two-tier pricing but stand your ground with your Thai driving licence and/or work permit and you will get the Thai rates. Don’t let that put you off though, as the park is worth a visit. You can visit their website here: http://www.pongyangadventure.com/

4. Pick your own Strawberries!

Because Chiang Mai can get quite chilly it makes for the ideal place in Thailand to grow strawberries. The strawberry season starts around the middle of November until late February.

5. Night Markets

There are lots of opportunities to shop in Chiang Mai with a lots of diverse and intriguing markets.

The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is one of the biggest. Chiangmai by Hotels.com describe it as “An epicentre of shopping in Chiang Mai. The huge Night Bazaar runs every evening from 18:00 to 22:30. Defining where this market begins and ends is not easy, as the collection of stalls and shops does vary; head to intersection of Chang Khlan Road and Loi Khro Road and you’ll be roughly in the middle, with the bazaar spreading out for about two blocks in every direction.”

Culturetrip.com suggests 8 markets you must visit in Chiang Mai: https://theculturetrip.com/asia/thailand/articles/the-8-best-markets-in-chiang-mai-you-should-visit/

6. Waterfalls
